Mizu Aikido
Welcome to the Mizu Aikido Web page. Mizu Aikido has a training venue in Bedale, North Yorkshire. The Senior Instructor is Sensei Nigel Spencer 4th Dan and it is part of the Shin-Gi-Tai Aikido Society which is headed by Shihan Gwynne Jones 8th Dan.
Congratulations to Richard Fryer on achieving his Shodan on 17th March 2012. The grading was rounded off with an excellent 4 man randori.
Aikido means Harmony Spirit Way and is a non competitive martial art relying on technique rather than strength for its effectiveness.
Mizu means Water:
If your opponent strikes with fire counter with water becoming completely fluid and free flowing. Water by its nature never collides with or breaks against anything. On the contrary it swallows up any attack harmlessly.
